본 과정은 다문단으로 구성된 에세이쓰기를 주로 다룬다. 에세이는 서론, 본론, 결론의 구조를 갖춘 학문적 글쓰기를 중심으로 하며, 과정적 글쓰기를 통해 계획, 초안, 수정 등의 글쓰기를 연습하다. 수업 작문으로서의 글쓰기 교육과 더불어 문법 및 표현과 관련된 영어표현에 대한 내용을 다룬다. 수업활동은 발표 및 과제, 기타 수업활동을 통해 말하기와 듣기의 능력도 통합적으로 개발될 수 있도록 설계되어 있다.

This class will focus on developing multiple-paragraph essays with introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs for academic writing. Students will examine model essays that demonstrate application of good writing techniques and will study and practice specific grammar concepts and topics related to second language essay writing. Class activities also will continue to develop skills in listening and speaking through presentations and other assignments.
